A friend of mine sent me this today, and wondered what it was; I don't know, so I thought I would ask y'all.
(The picture is from the restoration hangar in the Udvar-Hazy Centre, in northern VA, the plane in question is the one in the foreground, there is also a B-25 (or B-24?) in the background).
I hope you enjoy the photo, and would definitely recommend the museum if you ever have a chance to visit :-)

It looks like possibly a Sturmovik by the shape of the vertical stabilizer & rear facing seat in the cockpit. It also seems well armored under the engine area.
FYI for land gamers, use the AAAF card for the Sturmovik, it is the correct availability of 1941 instead of 1945, AAM uses the IL-10, the AAAF uses the IL-2, earlier version of same plane, WotC screwed the pooch on this on for the Russians, it also carried rockets and/or bombs.
If we have some card makers out there, maybe a custom/correct card could be made for this formidable aircraft.
The original AAM/Sturmovik card has 1945 as available & as an IL-10, the AAAF card for AAM has it as an IL-2 & 1941, which is correct & helps the Russians considerably in AAM.
I play AAAF every week and just used a flight of IL-2's and yet never use aircraft for AAM. I was not aware of the problem with the AAM card. They did an official update on the planes for AAM. I will look for my copy and post the results.
Aircraft are quite abstract in AAM, mainly strafing with a few that have rockets or bombs & a couple, the Sturmovik & Typhoon have decent AV numbers & the Ju-87G has very good AV numbers, I've been on both sides of those too...lol
I had an old gaming friend many years that played AAM with me all the time (he sold his huge collection to me 7 or 8 years ago) He lost a heavy Soviet tank early to a rear shot from a plane one day and lost his mind. He hated planes ever since and we never used them again. As a general rule I rarely used them much after that.
IMO they not balanced both in terms of their potential power and vulnerability. I much prefer AAAF for aircraft combat
I use them for simple air support, as they were sorta designed when they appeared in AAM. I came from the old Avalon Hill Bookcase games, Panzerblitz, Panzerleader, Arab-Israeli Wars at first & then AH came out with Squad Leader, kind of a grandparent to AAM in a few ways, the scale is almost the same, 100 yds. in AAM, 50 in SL & ASL, Advanced Squad Leader, a cleaned up & in ways improved Squad Leader. The LOS system can be used in AAM for levels, height advantages etc & terrain effects can be different, more realistic I think. This system is much easier to do turns though, ASL has a LOT going on each turn, this is more the "Beer & Pretzels" with as much or as little "Houseruling" & it looks better than the little cardboard squares those games are.
Planes strafe & bomb or attack tanks/vehicles & the Expanded Rules for aircraft are good & I houserule only MG's & armed vehicles can shoot at planes with the above modifiers to the dice, -1 or -2. I use AAAF cards for many of my AAM planes for whatever advantage can be gained, Flying Tigers P-40 has SA 2, Navy Corsair's are 1942 available for the Marines landings, IL-2 instead of IL-10, 1941 available & a few others.
I've had fun with planes before in AAM, they can be weak or lucky, just like the dice...lol
