I see that many new members have joined (myself included) over the past few months as interest in the game rises with many of us stuck at home. I also notice that many new members have not yet played an online match. I'm about to finish my second match with SWO_Daddy and it has been (1) a lot of fun and (2) the best way yet to master the rules.
To get more people into the online match fold, I propose a Greenhorn Tournament of anyone who joined the board in 2019 or 2020 (ish). Here's the format I propose:
-A schedule that includes at least 2 games each. (I'm happy to organize and make the schedule.) If we have at least four people interested, I think this can work.
-Each person will be assigned an Axis game and an Allies game and can choose nation and build accordingly. The players can agree to year limits, specific nations, card sets, or anything else before they start. Each game will be 100 points.
-Depending on the number of people interested, we'll have a final match (based on head-to-head wins with points as tiebreaker) or two semifinal matches followed by a final match.
If there is interest, I will move this over to the Clubhouse section to organize and we'll get the matches started.
I think we have our fourth person! I will let them chime in and confirm, but once we have our fourth I'll start a new thread and get this show on the road.
In the meantime, if anyone else wants to join the greenhorn tournament let me know!
