I've used them for FLAC with my group before - it basically marries AAAF with an X-Wing-esque maneuver dial. Result is pretty fun, if not slow to introduce to new players. I found the rule set on BoardGameGeek a few years back.
I have played Blood Red Skies many times. I think you could use the AAAFM miniatures, sure, but I think you'd have to double the measurements for movement, and would need a much larger table to play on. The standard BRS games (1/200 scale) take up 36" by 36", and use most of that. I'd think that you'd pretty much have to double the size of the table and the rulers to play with the 1/100 minis from AAAFM
