An unadulterated late war defensive fighter for the KM. A beast, but fitting given some of the other super fighters and attack planes running around in that year.
I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harm's way. - Captain John Paul Jones
In fairness, we're still tweaking Pride of the Fleet. I bare the majority of the blame for the SA. My intention: For the slow rolls or Jammed Mount, you still roll every turn. The SA just allows you to ignore the impact of those SAs next turn. Not sure the wording is 100%.
Costing on this unit is also a little tricky. Compared to ship like the Italian V Veneto, I think its about right. Compared to Queen Elizabeth, its probably too high. I do think this is a slightly better ship overall that KGV, despite its great vulnerability. Brigs and I could be talked into 52 points.
Be interesting to see painted versions of this Hood. Opens up possibilities for the camouflage schemes she surely would have got. Something with a bit of green sounds appealing!
"That's right son, join the navy. Get behind a bloody big gun and knock the hell out of somebody"
"We went out, got our arses kicked, then came back again"
Brigs and I spent quite a bit of time discussing this card. Of all the spotting aircraft we've done, this one was the hardest. This particular plane was pretty much THE Italian naval gunfire spotter, but other than some light MGs, it carried no armament. Rational behind the 0 ASW score is just as Brigs stated. It can make an attack that rolls no dice, and then trigger some effects. Its not awesome, but it does have its uses.
