Speaking as someone who spent many, many hours copying content over here I think this new board has a better interface and options. But the old site still has vastly more older content. The really frustrating part would be transferring back all the active deck 5 development threads after spending the equivalent of several days copying them from the old site to here. That is one big reason I won't have a Shapeways mini painted for a giveaway next month.
However, I would go back if that is what everyone wants. But I think we should wait until they migrate to their new server and software and see 1) if they successfully transfer all the content and 2) if we like what they offer on the new server. According to ND they plan to do that fairly soon.

The new site format is WAY better in general and to use on a smart phone.
I understand the content issue but I think we should stay here.
Speaking as an older person who finds the restrictions a smart phone provides us with;;; thats of little interest to me. I find the wealth of information that will not get transferred far more valuable, especially to new players; That website is WAS's last legacy, a great History of what brought us to here. If the new people can accomplish little or no lose of information it's worth staying with.
I like this new forum much better, and feel it could be disjointing to the community to call for a change, get them to sign up, then cancel it.
However, the old content IS super valuable! What kind of work load is required to bring it all across to this forum? I am ignorant of what running a forum requires.

There is something to be said about encouraging new content creation rather than telling everyone, "that's been done before." There are plenty of good things on the old forum, but also plenty of things that are best left in the past. Let's work on making this our new home and keep the energy high and positive.

It should also be pointed out that the switch instigated an enormous increase in activity on the board. I think it startled us out of our "funk" and made us realize we all need to put some energy into this thing if we want it to continue to serve us well and promote the game we love.

Excellent point Weeds. I think we should turn the old site into a "museum ship", so to speak. We can go back and visit it to look at old content, but all current operations are conducted from here.
At this point, I'd only go back to the old site if this one shut down. I do still use the old site to look up old posts or information, and there's no reason we can't keep it around for that reason. We should make sure anyone who drifts in there is directed here, tho, lest they think the community is "dead".
