Nubian saw much action, being involved in the actions at Calabria, in July 1940, Matapan (March 1941), Sfax (April), and finally Crete (May). During the battle of Cape Matapan, she delivered the coup de grace to the Italian cruiser Pola, stricken by an aerial torpedo.
I think we are on the right lines straight off. She was one of the most heavily damaged DDs to survive, so some sort of Survivor ability for sure and then depends how much you want to max it out. No problems with finish her off.
It just shows how many early battles she took part in. To earn so many battle honors and considering the length of repair time, though with it being a foreign repair would have slowed things up somewhat.
The Osprey book on the naval battles of Crete is published this month and I'll be interested to see what it might mention about Nubian.
"That's right son, join the navy. Get behind a bloody big gun and knock the hell out of somebody"
"We went out, got our arses kicked, then came back again"
HMS Nubian had only recently arrived in the Mediterranean when Italy entered the conflict and would see much action in the next 12 months. Present at Cape Matapan, she finished off the crippled cruiser Pola with a torpedo. During the battle of Crete, she was bombed by a Ju88 whilst part of the escort to HMS Formidable. Hit on the stern, she suffered severe damage to her rudder but managed to reach safety. Committed to a lengthy overseas repair, it was nearly 18 months before she saw further service in the Arctic, Mediterranean and Indian Oceans. 1 of only 4 RN Tribals to survive the war, Nubian earned 13 battle stars.
