The combat range of the P-51 was 750 miles. Still not enough in my option. But it does reach the 1,500 miles in a stretch. I forgot the Mustang slipped through on that. However, we intentionally gave it "Hi-Level Escort" to nerf it.
Tempest would further "pull back" the requirement for Excellent Endurance and I don't think that power creep is a good idea. Land fighters are supposed to have the every other turn handicap.
Frankly, the game just breaks with late war land fighters if we don't tone them down. Despite being a naval game at heart most WWII fans seem to have a hard time holding back on their "enthusiasm" for their favorite aircraft.
