Rotatable turrets. (5-in guns and larger)

It's actually a pretty simple one way push-in peg design. I tried a print-in place design with a ball socket but couldn't get it working consistently. I'm testing different tolerance and retention dimensions now.

I've offered the feature to XPForge. Still waiting for them to test and determine feasibly. It's one thing to print a prototype, it's another to print at volume.

It seems to be getting there. Those twin 5-inch guns are just about as small as I can go. I'm doing a test right now with the Fletcher-class single 5-inch mount but I had to adjust some proportions. 

That looks very cool. Also makes painting around the guns even easier if they can be added after the deck is finished!

My intent is to provide them through XPForge eventually. The issue is that we haven't had the opportunity to work together to fine-tune the tolerances so that he can provide consistent quality so it's been on the back burner. 

I would be interested to know your opinions here if snap-fit guns are a must-have or if floating guns that would fall out if turned upside down are acceptable. (Note that this is actually how main battery turrets were installed in real life.) It would actually be quite easy to implement it if they were just pegs. The issue comes with my idea that they should be permanent once installed due to the risk of losing small parts.

I'll be doing conversion work over the coming months. Any requests for which ships I should do first?
