Formerly HMS Griffon. HMCS Ottawa waa the second ship of that name in the Royal Canadian Navy. Already a veteran of battles in norway, north africa and the mediterrean. The Ottawa was the lead destroyer of a RCN flotilla operating in the north atlantic, and later another of the french coast during Operation Overlord.
