So it seems we are getting Berwick because of the limited choices regarding battle specific starter and the county class cruisers are already well represented with at least 3 RN (Norfolk last set) & 3 RAN but we are a lot lower in the important MED theater classes of Dido, C class(AA) & towns(see Manchester thread) etc.
HMS Coventry took part in the battle, others like Arethusa were on the periphery. In terms of Dido's, that comes back to having freedom of flexible choice. Scylla for example was a flagship in the Arctic & at Normandy but not at this particular battle.
We are in uncharted waters here in terms of doing a specific battle starter this down the line and my argument is the UK slots are being negatively affected by this in terms underwhelming unit choices and lesser needed types at the expense of more worthy units and historical gaps to fill - see post in set list thread.

I agree. The UK has always been thr red headed stepchild of WAS. If we want to do a UK vs IT starter, which I'm all for, should be new classes for the UK to round them out vs Italian ships that make the IT more competitive.
It might well surprise you to learn Coventry is my surname.
At any rate, Berwick is in this instance a fairly niched fighting ship, HF is a pretty useful ability considered italy and germany have range 4 cruiser gunnery, and the ijn has long lances.
I would counter thevpoint about choice by saying. Even given the limited number of big named ships available the capture of a player imagination is a lot more likely with larger more powerful ships balanced against one another.
We've got sides with capital ships, 2 largish cruisers and a couple of escorts. There is no logic in upsetting the balance for an old curiosity.
I can understand why HF4 looks attractive. My suggestion at this point is to have an all attacking Berwick in this mold (in the van, shooting from the hip) and Southampton with flag/leader as discussed previously for a good balance.

Most of her work was as convoy escorting. Her 2 big battles she participated in were against enemy cruisers. Maybe give her a Cruiser Killer SA for 1 extra dice vs cruisers if we want to give her a 2nd SA??
