This is nice, never could paint decent barber poles.
I agree this does look somewhat promising for those that aren't paint savvy. However with tiny pre-measured strips of tape, or a stencil it's super easy to do it yourself. Throw "hazard stripe stencil" into the ol' google machine and presto, you'll be painting poles in no time!
I think this has the potential to be revolutionary if the cost can be brought to a reasonable level. Only a few of us like to paint. Most people just want the minis "ready-to-go" to play with and I totally get that. It is one of the big reasons WaS was a success.
Agreed, take the eBay market as an example. Pre-painted custom minis sell very well and very quickly from what I have seen. People want to grab a mini and toss it on a gameboard.
Wow. That is good. I enjoy painting mine and I've sold a few painted on eBay. The italian ships are my least favorite. I have been planning to paint a USS Ranger, but keep putting it off due to the complexity. This might be less stressful process on my mind and back.
Very cool. If the cost comes down I might be interested. Getting the skills to do these in paint now though. Not a fan of the Italian candy striping but my Impero looks awesome. Taping works pretty good for it.
Paint the forecastle white. Lay strips of tape side-by-side on a diagonal. (Tamiya tape is best IMO) Remove every other strip of tape. Paint the exposed strips red.
