I would prefer a 2-die ASW Torpedo (which is closer to the historic 26.9% hit rate), but otherwise it looks good. One die once per game with no threat seems to me a bad proposition.

I was reading a bit more about the use of the Fido, and noted that in many instances it was a damaging rather than a fatal blow. What if the ability instead decreased the armour and vital armour of the attacked submarine instead of being a torp attack?
FIDO Mine: Once per game, when this unit makes an ASW attack against an enemy Submarine that does no damage, that enemy submarine get -1 armour and -1 vital armour this turn.

My first impression is thats diving into the details too deep for no better game experience, but lets discuss it The other option is to make it a submerged shot attack, and allow hits on 5. Like the camica nere ability, it'd only deal 1 hull points damage.
