I acquired a V-1 Doodlebug from Old Glory UK, with the notion of having a simple solo game of chasing and taking down the unguided missile. What I need now are stats.
For its speed, I'd guess a 6 or 7, since it the Allies' fastest aircraft were just fast enough to catch it. What kind of armour should a V-1 have? And if the Allied aircraft destroys it with cannon or machine gun fire, what kind of explosion damage should it do on the pursuing aircraft? Alternatively, pursuing aircraft found it easier to get to a point where they could disrupt the flow of air over the V-1 wing and throw it out of control. According to Wiki, only about 100 were destroyed this way. About 1,200 were shot down by aircraft, including Mosquitoes, Tempests and Mustangs.
Your thoughts are welcome.

Ive never read of interceptors getting caught in the blast but the wingtip thing has the potential for collisions.
They would only have a straight, diving flight plan. I suppose thats the starting point. Highest altitude, decending at max speed and try to intercept them.
After some substantial research and consideration, I made a V-1 card last year. I have it as follows (with explanation in parentheses). Enjoy!
~~~
Speed: 5 High Speed: 6 (I used these speeds because I also reworked stats for all aircraft in the game to make them comparable and consistent with one another) ATK: 0-0-0 Armor: 3 Vital: 7 (difficult to hit its small critical components) Hull: 1
Text:
Small- An aircraft may occupy the same space as this unit, and may make range-0 attacks against it using range-1 dice values.
Flying bomb- May only be damaged by critical or vital hits (*I have a different color die that I throw into the dice pool as the "critical" die). If damaged, roll a 6-dice attack against all aircraft withing range-1, hitting on 4+ (simulates V-1 exploding).
Topple- An aircraft at range-0 flying at the same speed and in the same direction as this unit may roll a die instead of attacking this unit, with +2 if pilot is a veteran or an ace. This unit is destroyed if the roll is higher than its armor (simulates "tipping" V-1s with wings - rare, possible, but very difficult to achieve).
~~~
PS
Scenario: V-1s only flies at altitude 1 (since most were launched at low level across channel). V-1s begin at normal speed. They then accelerate to high speed at the start of turn 6 (characteristic of pulse engine as fuel was nearly depleted). Victory condition: At least half of V-1s are destroyed by the end of turn 7.

Like this. Will try this soon.

Well thanks Encore, this is fantastic. I have a V-1 rocket that is almost ready for the table. I am thinking that I will try this solo with one fighter since I only have one rocket. Winner takes all, I will be sure to post an AAR
