I haven't painted anything besides carriers with decals in about...forever. The funny thing about these is Alabama has been ready for camo for nearly 2 years. Finally worked up the courage to take a chance on screwing up my nice base paint job.
The rest were done this week. I wanted them to look similar, but finally decided to do a different camo job on 3 and leave the last one, Mamie, kind of plain.
These are all FUD or what's now called "smooth fine detail plastic" from Tiny Thingamajigs.
Here's SoDak in MS 21 (this one looks much better in-person...I don't think I had enough light going...two-tone blue is hard on the iPhone...):
Indiana in MS 22:
Here's Big Mamie (Massachusetts) in my base USN scheme:
Finally, Alabama in MS 12 Mod...probably the most difficult camo (for me) I've ever done (Indy and Mamie wore this, too, but no way was I going to do more than 1):
Good job on the MS12 paint job. I’m not that brave. All my Americans are MS21 or MS22. Holding out that I might paint Independence in MS12 with a decal deck.
