Anson's SA's are a strange pairing, Misfire and Rapid fire. What was the thinking behind that?
We decided that we were going to go with a jammed mount type interaction. It was proposed that we give the player the option to mitigate it or to buff a regular attack. Flexibility and choice basically
The KGV class is always hard to do because RB decided Jammed Mount was a "class characteristic" by putting it on both of the sisters he did. The truth is they never fully fixed the issues with the mounts for those guns. But they did make some improvements and compensated some more with training. So we made a "Jammed Mount Light" SA and then added the SA that further allows you to either mitigate it if it triggers, or use it for a more powerful attack. We don't want to completely obsolete the previous cards. It's a bit of a compromise. If you are a "historical" player you will use the named card of the ship you are simulating. If you are playing for tournament prizes you might prefer Anson.
The other reality is the KGV class itself was a pretty big project of compromises. The RN was unilaterally trying to convince the other major navies to not build bigger battleships and adhered to the London treaty limits even when it was clear the "out clause" had been triggered by the Japanese building the Yamatos. Budget, design and tonnage restrictions, and politics all combined to create a relatively mediocre design compared to its peers. The Lion class would have addressed much of that, but was canceled.
