If you've been watching the Naval Modelling forum at all, you know I'm a big proponent of Flight Deck Decals. I'd love to see the results others are getting, so post your pics!
One thing I've seen frequently in my threads is a desire to see FDD expand to other units from Shapeways. I don't think Dan from FDD is going to go too far into other areas, but I do want to point out that he is expanding into supporting some of the Victory at Sea models from Warlord Games.
I've also been petitioning him to create decals without the deck color so that we could use them on various Shapeways models. It's a lot simpler to trim to fit a different vendors' Yorktown class, for example, if you're not trying to make it fit exactly. If this is of interest to you, please reach out to FDD and tell them you're interested.
I have many Shapeways carriers sitting in my "to-do" drawer because I find it too much work to really try and make the decks look good. Having a decal that will take care of the lines and circles and meatballs, etc. would be most helpful...
The various carrier creators are why I favor decals without the deck color. You can paint whatever deck you have and simply trim the decal down to the first set of lines...then it doesn't matter who the manufacturer is, it should be close enough that the decal works and the lines are straight etc...
If you look at this Kaga decal, if the decal only had the white lines and the Hinomaru, it should be able to fit on nearly any Kaga mini at 1/1800 size...imho.

I promise that I have 1-1800 scale generic white lines and other deck features are on my todo list. I just need to finish the 1-6000 line of deck decals first.
