As for k-9, she was offered by the dutch as a traning ship. Never intended for combat. So while, yes, otway and oxley were sold back to the RN. The represent a RAN lineage of submarines, the AEs from pre ww1, the j-class of immediately after ww1 and the o-class in the late 20s. Incidentally, theyre newer than the K9

I find it interesting we have the same aim but see it differently. I am of the option of HMAS Sydney III as she was an RAN ship and was built during ww2. I am more inclined to K9 because was commissioned during ww2. Either way we are aiming for a target that is similar.
For the Italians, they don't have a destroyer leader yet. For the initiative deprived this would be a good add.
So...one of the Capitani Romani-class cruisers. That's the purpose they were designed for. Sadly the Scipione Africano is already in a set but doesn't have that SA. We could add another???
The unfinished ship (some 28% complete) was captured in June 1940 by the invading Germans during the Second World War. In April 1942 the Germans began planning to convert De Grasse to a light aircraft carrier, provisionally named II. On 3 December 1942 Hitler ordered that De Grasse was to be built as an aircraft carrier for Germany but the work was stopped in February 1943 for several reasons, including a lack of materials and manpower and the threat of air attacks in Lorient.
The De Grasse class was designed as an enlarged and improved version of the preceding La Galissonnière class.

I'll second that, that's a solid choice, too.
Attilio Regiolo comes to mine, used as a minelayer, could also toss the Italians a bone for minelaying cruisers.
Argentina has a small like cruiser similar the the arethusa class (hms penelope card)
Ki-20? Ann is often suggested for Siam 🤢
Sweden has the Tre-Kronor cruiser (45), visby class destroyers and a pair of italian ones similar to the pegaso.
Uss westpoint, or the president class liners would be a big impressive sculpt in a type we haven't seen. Normandie for france as well I can't think of german or japanese equivalents.
The altmark (nordmark sister) was of a large class and known for the violation of norwegian neutrality by hms cossack

In this exercise, a unit must be proposed with, nation, niche and then be seconded by another member. Niches can't be duplicated in a given navy. Though some will overlap. Most decks i have participated in have aimed to have a rough sense of balance. If one side has a ship type. The other in the red/blue dynamic does too.
