I was thinking this afternoon of a potential german battleship that i'm not sure has been suggested.
SMS Ostfriesland.
This ship is best known as being sunk by bombers in 1921 by bombers under the command of William 'Billy' Mitchell. Too prove his point, Mitchell used significantly larger bombs than the navy had approved.
However, if Ostfriesland was not sunk. There are few historical factors that might see the dreadnought war-prize return to germany. 1. Under the versellies treaty Germany waa limited to 6 pre-dreadnoughts, of 10,000t. By 1922, the Reichsmarine had already scrapped one of the pre-dreadnought. 2. The most recent USN, USS Colorado, and RN, HMS Hood vastly out classed the 2nd generation dreadnought. However, Ostfriesland was an adequete counter to a likely opponent. 3. The Russian Civil ended in 1922. Allied forces, including 5000 American soldiers had intervened in 1918-19.
Hypothetically, with the threat of the newly established USSR. The United States, returns their warprize to german in place of one of the assigned pre-dreadnoughts to counter the Baltic Fleet of the Red Navy.
Compared to the Baltic Fleets, Marat; Ostfriesland mounted 12x12" main guns, a slightly heavier belt. Though slightly slower.
I am in favor of doing WWI era BB's for Germany to give them something other than another Scharnhorst rework. Everyone else has modernized WWI era BB's.
I like this idea. It doesn't even need to be very modernized. I don't need another copy of an existing card. If it has cruddy AA but is costed interestingly enough then it will be fun to fool with.

One of the outcomes of the Battle of Jutland was that the German battleships were undergunned. If they somehow kept one of their WWI era battleships they likely would have upgunned it to 14-15 inch guns.
