I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on at what tonnage a unit is representing multiple ships/boats. An S-Boat is about 100 tons and its unit represents multiple S-Boats. A Type 13 subchaser is 438 tons and is a single boat. what is the transition tonnage?
Somewhere in between. I know that’s obvious! But to me it’s more than tonnage. Look at the weapons load out. Can it stand alone and have viable stats? Would it be a better piece with double the firepower?
A second train of thought is that the double unit is just an aesthetic. Are the MTB stats for one boat or two?
Third, look at operational use. Did the ship/boat in question tend to fight in tandem, or solo?

Well indeed!
The ships I am musing on are as follows: 1) HMoNS Otra and Rauma minesweepers. 370 tons but very similar in size and armament to a Type 13, except with no ASW value. I was considering grouping these into 1 unit, but I think they stand alone. 2) ORP Jaskolka and her 5 sisters. These are a bit trickier. 183 tons, so alot closer to an S-Boat, but in physical size not much smaller than a Type 13. Again a similar armament including some ASW value, but probably only enough for a 2 value. They would stand alone.
Both would probably be 3 points as single units.

For the sake of my scenario (Operations Rurka/Worek, Sep 39') I have grouped two together into 1 unit. With 6 really weak units, I wouldn't be able to get all the units in that I wanted. Two don't even have the 75mm gun of the others. Just a 13.2mm MG. With a low speed, only 20 DC's, and probably little if anything in the way of detection equipment, I think even two would only justify an ASW value of 2?
Displacement: 183 tons (lasts two 185) Speed: 17.5 knots Armament: 1 x 75mm, 2 x 0.5" MG, 20 mines or 20 depth charges or minesweeping gear (last two 1 x 13.2mm MG instead of 75mm) Draft: 5 feet
The 75mm looks dual purpose from the pics I've seen.
