A Euro trip in September (can't call it a tour since we're only there for 11 days) is going to have my partner and me spend a day at the Juno Beach Centre, two days near the Vimy Memorial and possibly two days in Nijmegen (near the Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery). Any experience with rail passes in the region? Thoughts on inexpensive but suitable accommodation for a retired couple? I've got a line on a decent BnB near Vimy, but kind of adrift re accommodations at Courseulles-sur-Mer (near Juno Beach) or Nijmegen. Advice welcome.

Do either of you have room in your suitcase for a 235 lb stow away?
Did you have to convert that from kilos, or do you weigh yourself in pounds?
It's weird up here. We us metric for distance, but for weight it's about 50/50. Like at the grocery store. For personal measurements, it's 95% pounds/feet and inches.
Construction is also almost totally feet and inches

It is General Hoth's historic restaurant in Rouen.
I've eaten at his place! Funny I was just thinking about him today and wondering if he knows about this Forumini migration. He is one f many who would drop by occasionally.
If people don't make the switch will they be lost to us forever?
Audacity!
Every day I know less about WWII because every day I realise there is more to know!

I don't think so. An easy Google search on 'Forumini' already lists the new site at #9. Just keep posting and everything will be okay
Unfortunately, it is a bit too far for the jam-packed sked we've got for this trip. My partner is coming with me, and there are only so many battlefields I can drag her through.

I can reccommend Varlet Farm for a lunch (varletfarm.com). It is close to Ypres though.
