OK, my last WiP thread was about Soviet armor. This one is going to be for German armor. After all, the Soviets need an opponent!
I'm going for an Early/Mid war look with grey on this group.
In this picture, all of the vehicles have been assembled (the Panther and Jagdpanther are interchangeable) and the tracks and wheels have received a coat of grey-black.
Looking good so far, I'm looking forward to seeing the Panther and Jagdpanther the most.
Hah! Thanks for the encouragement. Work has been crazy and, frankly, not what I wanted to be doing any longer so a lot of my free time has been eaten up by research on a new job. I'm hoping to get back to working on these bad boys in the next week or so since I just accepted a new position. I want to wrap up the German units so I can get to work on some British units I've picked up.
Only the Panzer III and the Tiger in the picture above are 3D printed. You can tell by the turquoise-colored resin he used in the center hole where the turret goes. Unfortunately, the Panzer III had a messy accident in my garage and will need to be stripped and get a "do-over" (since he has the schurzen, he'll probably get the late-war yellow treatment now, anyway).
I've failed to take in-progress pictures. I thought I took some last weekend after the wash and then the highlight, but I actually took pics of some British tanks I'm working on concurrently instead.
These Germans are finished, but only half got decals yesterday in time for a matte varnish today before the humidity went up too high.
The remainder got their decals this evening and will probably have to wait until Wednesday or Friday for the humidity to drop enough to spray them. I'll post them when they get their varnish.
I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, but they were a lot more work that I was looking for. Had some trouble with the black wash and had to go back and reapply my base coat and start the wash over.
