Da Recco has Tenacity so on a 4 or higher it stays in the game. But I am ready to concede. I couldn’t get the hits I needed so it didn’t really matter if you were vitalling my stuff or not...which you were! So that’s a thing. Cruisers with dinky torpedoes are really bad against a big battleship. Ah well.
No, the destroyer escorts are disposable. You did fine.
Does it seem to you that Cruisers don’t get much of a bump in points cost for carrying torpedoes? It seems like the US is really missing out by not having torpedoes. I know why they did it in real life, and they have other advantages so I think it balances well.
The common mantra is that cruisers are just overcosted anyway. But then the question is whether battleships are just undercosted and everything else is fine. The US cruisers tend to have better gun lines, better SAs, and armor. So it kind of works out.
San Francisco - mondo SAs, robust frame, 16 points Cleveland - top of the line gun line, great SA, robust frame, 16 points
Belfast - worse guns, torpedoes, non-synergistic SAs, 14 points Algerie - good guns, torpedoes, good SAs, 15 points
