You can also deploy submarines up to the row the objectives are in, but not the objective row. You could put them in row 5 in your case. Your side of the map is also called the Submarine deployment zone.
Sorry guys, I did not know this. Did I miss it somehow? I thought only special submarines had that ability.

Sorry guys, no, I do not deserve a do-over on a basic rule like that. I did not find American subs to be worth using so I guess I just forgot how to use them. I would have picked a different sub had I been thinking right, but I planned for this by using a sub that had 2 movement points. I think I will be all right.
I have 2 flag bonuses, so I will roll 3. Unless of course I don't get the Bismark bonus yet, in which case lets just use the first 2 of the 3 dice I am going to roll.
Looks like a tie - we each roll two dice and add our best flagship bonus to the total. Your first two dice and mine are the same, and we both have flagship 1 as our best bonus, so it's a tie and we re-roll. (2010 rulebook page 18 - also, I'm re-reading these myself so don't think I know these rules off the top of my head!!)
It’s always 2 initiative dice. Sometimes, like with Flag, you get an initiative bonus, but that’s just adding to the sum of the two dice. For instance, if I have Flag 1 and roll a 12, my reported result is 13.
You only get initiative bonuses from ships in play that are not crippled.
On the subs, U-66 was errata’d to speed 1, so you should re-deploy. We’re all learning here.
