Hey guys, another newbee question for you
The following excerpt is take from the "special abilities errata FAQ"
Q: This still isn't clear to me. If my unit stays in a hex containing a minefield, do I need to roll for it on future movement and assault phases even if I didn't move?
A: Yes. The 11/12/09 clarification document says; "Whenever a unit enters a hex containing this Obstacle, or ends its movement phase or assault phase in a hex containing this Obstacle, the unit's controller rolls a die. On a 3 or less, put a face-up Disrupted counter on that unit."
A: Yes. The 11/12/09 clarification document says; "Whenever a unit enters a hex containing this Obstacle, or ends its movement phase or assault phase in a hex containing this Obstacle, the unit's controller rolls a die. On a 3 or less, put a face-up Disrupted counter on that unit."
So lets play this out,
In turn 1 a Matilda enters a minefield in a movement phase and is disrupted immediately. In the following assault phase the Matilda can't move because the disrupted marker is still in play. Casualty phase, the disrupted marker stays in effect and is not removed. Turn 2, the Matilda is disrupted and cannot move, but per the Q&A above, is still subjected to a minefield roll. Lets say it fails (or succeeds depending on who you are) and receives another disrupted marker in the turn 2 movement phase. So now the Matilda has 2 turned up disrupted counters? Or should the first disrupted marker been removed at the end of turn 1?
Also, reading the question, " do I need to roll for it on future movement and assault phases even if I didn't move?" and with answer of yes, is there a minefield roll in every phase? Something seems haywire to me here. It appears that once something is disrupted, there is little chance to escape a minefield.
Can someone please clear this up for me.
Let me add to this turn 1 situation for a bit. Turn 1 Matilda is disrupted in movement phase and receives one hit. In turn 1 assault phase, Matilda receives 2 hits from Panzer, Matilda is destroyed, correct?
Also, if a German DAK enters the minefield hex to attempt a close assault, he would also be subjected to a minefield roll, correct?
Thanks
