Espana Class: Espana Class Battleship (Nationalist) Commissioned: August 1915 (As Alfonse XIII, Renamed 1931) Fate: Sunk by Mine April 1937 Displacement: 15,700 tons standard Length(OA): 460 ft Beam: 79 ft Speed: 19.5 Knots Armament: 8 x 305mm (12in)/50 cal. guns, 20 x 102mm (4in) guns, 4 x 3 pounder guns, 2 x MG
Early Deployment - This unit may deploy in any sector on your side of the map. You may deploy one cruiser or destroyer in this unit's sector. Each unit deployed this way can't claim an objective on turn 1 or 2. Raider - This unit rolls one extra attack die when making Gunnery attacks against Destroyers and Auxiliary units.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The three España -class battleships were the smallest dreadnoughts ever built. The second ship, Alfonso XIII was renamed España following the loss by grounding of the lead ship. During the Spanish Civil War España was seized by the Nationalist forces while the remaining ship, Jamie I, served the Republican government. España was used to enforce a blockade in northern Spain while Jaime I was deployed to break it. Neither survived the war; España struck a mine and Jamie I suffered an accidental explosion.
Guys, while working on the card I discovered on Wikipedia that Espana's armament was changed by 1937.
One of her waist main turrets was not working. (Only two were working when the Civil War broke out, but they got the port turret working later).
She only had 12 of her 4 in guns remaining on the ship. And the 3 pdr and MGs had been removed and used for shore defenses. During a refit in the Civil War they added 4 x 88 mm (3.5 in) German AA guns, and 2 x 20 mm AA.
So her armament (at best) during the Civil war was actually
6 x 12 in (3 x 2), 12 x 4 in (12 x 1), 4 x 3.5 in AA (4 x 1), and 2 x 20 mm AA (2 x 1)
This changes her gunnery considerably. However, the mains still look okay to me. There is considerable latitude in that range in the stat guidelines.
Secondaries should be dropped to 5/5/4 (at best since they were actually 6 hull mounted guns on each side)
AA is still correct at 4 according to the stat guidelines.
So I think the only line that really needs changing is the secondaries from 6/5/4 to 5/5/4

People are going to assume the 6x12 armament is a typo. Is there room for an extra sentence explaining it in the description?
It is a typo..... it’s 4x2 with a broadside of 3x2.
It's not that either. One of the turrets was non-functional. In fact, only two of the turrets were functional at the start of the civil war. They managed to get the port side turret working a few months later. This ship was basically a derelict when the war started with much of its armament removed. It was barely functional. I will add something to the flavor text.
