Sorry for asking but doesn't seem like much going on for the last while?
I think the WAS section is alive, and the AAM section is showing signs of life. It appears that AAAF is struggling. But you are correct, sir, in that the number of involved members has dropped considerably. There seems to be a migration and fragmenting into various Facebook pages. It is easier to post photos to FB and there may be the ability to attract new players. For a number of my Facebook posts, I have linked back to the Forum.
Those who don't remember their history are bound to do something or other...
My Facebook group has gotten pretty big and will probably hit the 1000 member level before it's 1 year anniversary (but it covers everything under the axis and allies brand). Alot of people don't know the miniatures games exist and probably the strongest point of the group in regards to WAS is giving the game exposure to a large group of people that would be predisposed to being interested in the subject matter. If the OP or others are vested in the overall growth/popularity/health of the game join/post with the knowledge that it's the perfect platform to reach both existing and new players.
It certainly isn't a replacement to the forum as Facebook is more picture oriented and a different vibe so they can both co-exist peacefully lol.
But yes as a more casual poster since the forum move it seems like the move lost some posters and things have quieted down furthermore since the establishment of the new forum. I wouldn't say it's dead though.
Declining membership with the remaining members more and more caught up in the secret projects and slightly anti social to the rest of the forum like in game of thrones the maesters caught up in the citadel oblivious to the rest of westeros ...now winter has come.

Yes the forum is now ruled by an elite hierarchy X-Spurts hell bent on wrecking the game with poorly thought out units and pet projects.
