The bendy barrel on my Jagdpanther has always driven me crazy. I finally yanked it out and replaced it with a hard plastic barrel from a TANKS Panther/Jagdpanther kit. The kit will end up as a Panther, so the barrel was an easy spare. The tank destroyer already looks SO much better. Now I just need to get it painted.

Nope. Tried multiple times. It was pretty hopelessly bent in the shape of a fish hook when it came out of the box years ago and I never could make it right.

Ive only encounted a few that couldn't be straightened with hot water method. The ones that wouldn't, I always figured they were taken from the mold when hot and were bent while cooling causing them to have a memory. Ive broken barrels from different 15mm plastic kits and would fix them with 1mm dia magnets glued to the barrel and the mantlet of the tank.

This will likely be my first serious AAM repaint, along with several unpainted TANKS models. I'd like to give them a uniform appearance, so I'm trying to settle on a good paint scheme for the bulk of my German tanks. Might not be possible, given the differing eras for some of the vehicles. But I dig the camo schemes and I also like the plain Panzer grey. Might go with a mix.
