This is a custom card being designed for my Strike North Campaign Scenario which I will be GMing during the upcoming MaizeCon in Waterloo, IA happening in October 2018. There are plenty of card designs already out there by such esteemed individuals as Sharpe, Thor711 and ObstbfEgon. I'm using them as starting points for my own versions. Some have been left entirely intact and others I have modified to my own purposes.
I used the Higgins Boat as a starting point. The attack stats are based directly on the Higgins Boat which has 50 cal. MGs. For this British version it would be two Lewis guns. I'm thinking there wouldn't be much of a difference.
Looking for feedback. What do you think? Should the cost remain as it is or perhaps drop it a point? Any concerns or questions?
Water Craft - This unit can enter only water hexes. This unit can enter water hexes as though they were clear hexes.
Heavy Vehicle Transport – This unit has the ability to carry either 3 Soldiers or 1 Vehicle & 1 Soldier. (A friendly Soldier or Vehicle can board or dismount this unit instead of moving during your movement phase.) **(Updated)**
This early version LCM had a carrying capacity of one 16-ton tank or 100 troops. A pair of these water craft were used to land French H-39 tanks at Bjerkvik & Orneset Beach in May 1940.
I have been debating with myself whether or not to give this boat a carrying capacity of 3 soldiers. That way the player would have the option to do one tank or three soldiers. Right now it pretty much is just like a Higgins Boat. What do you think, keep it as is or change it and alter the point cost?
Allow for three infantry or 2 infantry and a tank and increase the cost by 1 or 2 points. It would stand as a separate option from the Higgins
In terms of weight capacity I would think allowing three soldiers or one tank with one soldier might be the way to go. Two Soldiers and a tank would be a bit much. And then yes, increase the point cost buy one or two.
