So how do you folks like the Land Game so far? No such thing as too many maps, the more maps you have, the options are nearly endless. I am a Land Gamer exclusively & am always looking for more maps & when the budget allows, add to my armies. Nowhere near a complete collection but large enough to play small, medium or large games & it is never the same game/battle or builds every time. Always something different in our games, keeps it fresh & fun & that's why we play...
I started out as an exclusive war at sea player. But firehouse introduced me to the land game and it planted a seed that I couldn't ignore.
Anyway, the land game is a lot more tactically demanding than war at sea. I've played a number of tabletop war games and i gotta say that AAM has it going on. It's every bit as sound as any of the other ww2 games I've played but it moves so much faster because of hex based movement.
I'm honestly hard pressed to find a game that's better. All the others are either too simple or too complex. All three A&A games really nailed the perfect balance of ease of play and strategy but I think AAM is a bit above its brothers

In response to curtm1911, we have been having a great time with the game. We have been getting a game for the past few Saturdays, and have another planned for this upcoming one. Thanks to many of the members of the forum, I have been able to increase my collection of pieces and maps without completely breaking the bank, which has added a lot of variety to keep it interesting. I have been going through the AAM Resource Page and grabbing all the info I can. There is tons of info in there for a new player, many thanks to all who took the time to compile all of that. Don't be surprised if I do, from time to time ask for a clarification on a rule or procedure. I am still going through all the new info I have received, so I will hold off on the stupid questions for a bit. Not sure if mnorthstars question was directed at me, or a general question for all.
triggermike, Yep, you're hooked... It truly is a fun & challenging game. Terrain, LOS create different actions be taken to make strategies work usually. Builds are unique as well, some people go armor heavy, some infantry heavy, some a more balanced combination, lots of options. Hot dice always help but a versatile build can mitigate those hot dice somewhat but you will figure those aspects of the game as the addiction grows. Enjoy, it sounds like you are enjoying already so Happy Gaming!
