Today I painted some pre-WWII British destroyers. The models are very well made by shapeways Direwolf, and I hope he can produce more, especially the L&M class (Not the HMSLegion model, because most L&M class equipped with 3 very large twin turrents instead of 4 small AA turrents. Only a small number of L&M class has 4 small AA turrents such as HMS Legion, Lance, Lively and Gurkha II. SO the normal L&M class destroyers desperately need a model. I need them to represent HMS Matchless and Musketeer to be used in the Battle of the North Cape scenario). Now let's look at today's UK DDs.
An overview...
The two Shakespeare Class Destroyer Leaders, HMS Broke and HMS Keppel.
The six Scott Class Destroyer Leaders, HMAS Stuart (two different paint schemes, as in 1940 and 1941),HMS Campbell, HMS Malcolm and HMS Montrose.
The vintage Admiralty S class destroyers, HMS Thanet, Tendos, Scout and Stronghold.
The Admiralty V&W class destroyers, HMS Wolverine, Wessex, Venetia, Veteran, Vidette.
The Admiralty V&W class destroyers in the Australian service, the HMAS Vampire, Waterhen, Voyager, Vedetta.
