I am not a wetsider but do look in this section. If I recall correctly, SS designates submarines. Three subs come to my mind but I do not know if they are in the game, so bear with me here. Silversides Wahoo Tang
I read "Wake of the Wahoo". Good read, written by the Yeoman who was detatched from Wahoo on Midway, just prior to it's final patrol. Forrest Sterling is the author I believe. "Wahoo" , authored by Richard H. O'Kane is another fine book. It finishes the story of Wahoo from records examined after the war. "Clear the Bridge!", also by Richard O'Kane is Tang's story. I know less of Silversides story, but do know it was a highly successful boat
If you want exciting subs, these would fit the bill I do believe. The above mentioned books are also great reads. Just some thoughts from a land gamer who watches the yacht club & enjoys some of the aspects of the sea side. Love the threads about the finding the lost ships of WW 2. Carry on gentlemen...
If I recall correctly, Silversides was the top scoring sub in sinkings until post war records & information provided by Richard O'Kane which made the Tang the top scoring sub. It has been several years since I read "Clear the Bridge" but that is where I learned that Tang was the top sub of WW 2 for the USN. Another good submarine book is "Pigboats", the overall story of the "Silent Service" told from start to finish, with lost boats put in when they were lost in the timespan & if known, how they were lost. The books I mentioned in the other post are highly recommended reads for those interested in the sub war. Looks like you have a couple good subs for you "Wetsiders". Do they see use/play & how do they perform? Just curious on that.
I do know that Silversides was the only one of those subs to survive the war. Wahoo is believed to have been sunk by an anti-submarine aircraft as she was departing the Sea of Japan through the La Perouse Straits between Sakhalin Island & Hokkaido. Tang was sunk by a circular running torpedo, the last one it had aboard, in the Formosa Strait. Only nine crew, including Commander O'Kane survived to the end of the war, after becoming POW's.

I do believe he was the only commander of Harder. What was his nickname, it was what he was known for?
“Hit ‘em again, Harder” That was the units nickname. After it sunk 3 destroyers and severely damaging or sinking another 2. He was the only commander and was on his 7th war patrol.
