This is a custom card being designed for my Strike North Campaign Scenario which I will be GMing during the upcoming MaizeCon in Waterloo, IA happening in October 2018. There are plenty of card designs already out there by such esteemed individuals as Sharpe, Thor711 and ObstbfEgon. I'm using them as starting points for my own versions. Some have been left entirely intact and others I have modified to my own purposes.
Looking for feedback. What do you think? Is it balanced in terms of cost? Any concerns or questions?
Once I have enough comments / feedback giving approval I will produce the unit card and post it here.
Fokker CV-E
Nationality: Norway Aircraft Year available: 1940
Cost: 5 Speed: A Defense: 2/2 AI: 6/3/- AV: 2/1/-
Aircraft - Aircraft are placed during the flight phase and attack during the airstrike phase. Units attacking Aircraft use their anti-Soldier attacks and get -1 on each attack die.
1 X Small Bombs
A handful of these planes were stationed at Bardufoss airfield near Narvik. They flew continuous missions until the Allies evacuated Norway in June 1940.
I am revamping the design of this aircraft unit partly to simplify the use of aircraft in my Norway scenarios and partly to make it more useful for a Norwegian player. I dropped the Small Bombs SA and added two new SAs to make this a flying spotter for the Norwegians. This will be important for an upcoming scenario I'm designing entitled Kuberg Plateau. Historically the Norwegians did use this type of aircraft for recon and some bombing missions in Northern Norway near Narvik.
Here is Version 2 of this unit:
Fokker CV-E Nationality: Norway Aircraft
Year available: 1940 Cost: 5 Speed: A Defense: 2/2 AI: 6/3/- AV: 2/1/-
Aircraft - Aircraft are placed during the flight phase and attack during the airstrike phase. Units attacking Aircraft use their anti-Soldier attacks and get -1 on each attack die.
Airborne Spotter - If this unit is within eight hexes of an enemy unit, friendly artillery units with the Indirect Fire SA may perform an attack on that enemy unit.
Aerial Chatting On The Radio - This unit only counts as a Spotter if it doesn’t attack in the assault phase.
