Has anyone ever played this game... I used to play this game for years and we had several long term campaign games going. It is 3-D as far as having ASW, AAW, and Surface action with data cards/sheets for each class of ship, sub, and aircraft...
I downloaded the rules a couple years ago and read a bit of them. Cool, but a bit on the complex side. I prefer Naval Thunder, it's more "crunchy" than W@S but easier than Seekrieg (from what I can tell)...

yes, loved Seekrieg back in the 1980's, used to play every week, played at Jaxcon (Jacksonville, FL) and in south Carolina. Rules were very nice and realistic, gave you that feeling of "uh-oh", but reeeeaaaallll slow. My friends eventually quit, calling it Sitzkreig. Nice damage charts though. So Naval Thunder is a simplistic but still balanced and gives a good feel, plus you can finish a battle. A&A is just silly to Naval gamers. So our group settled on General Quarters 3. More detail than Naval Thunder, but not so complex that you cant finish a a game in 4 hours. I run it at Dragoncon every yea, and play with my local group 3-4 times a year (Asheville, NC.)
