2. Choose a map and agree on year, sizes of fleets, number and value of objectives, optional rules, optional cards, etc.
3. Choose sides (and optionally Admiral) and send your fleets to a moderator. When both players have sent their fleets, post them in the thread. When he/she notices the thread, the moderator will check to see if the fleets are the ones you had chosen.
4. Start playing as in real life. Roll the dice as instructed in the dice-rolling thread, where you can also practice. Post your moves by mentioning the name of the unit and the sector it moves to or the unit it fires at.
5. Use image editing software (such as the Gimp, Photoshop or even MS Paint) to make the map at the end of each step or turn. Depending on how fancy you want the map to be, you can either use the actual images of the ships or just type their names inside the sectors. When you finish making the map, upload it on an image storing website (such as photobucket or imageshack). Then you can make a link to it using either BBCode or clicking the image-link button up top.
Be polite to your opponent and patient. This is online-gaming through forum, which means that the players post their moves and map images when they have time.
