The night rules are in the rulebook... do you have it? If not, I can retype here. Basically, at night, all gunnery at ranges 1 or greater are -1 per die (hits on 5+) unless the target has previous damage. Also, no ER shots. Night Fighter, Radar and some other SAs get around some of this. Airborne attacks are -1/die (bombs, strafing) or -1 TT die (torpedoes). Subs are unaffected.
I've used lots of them the last two games, but I actually prefer to be more creative. However, with 1941, no ER, 200 pts, and air/gunnery -1 it limited my options. There are few ways for KM to combat the LL. So in this case we have to hide 😊
Well, you do have the first three turns of daylight, so you would have ER and air for those turns (and no gunnery penalty). By the time we get to the top of Turn 4 I doubt ER will matter much anyway.
