Here is a list of the things planned for this years Maize-con. No set times for everything except Sgt. Fury's "Invasion of Norway" scenario.
Invasion of Norway scenario hosted by Sgt. Fury. This will take place on Saturday with 2 time slots. First part will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with a break and the second part will be from 6:00 pm till 10:00 pm. The times could change as Sgt. Fury is still working out the details.
AAM retro tournament. This will be a tournament based on the original play of AAM when it was first introduced. Each person that wishes to take part will needs to make 2 builds of 100 pts. or 15 units each, 1 Axis and 1 Allied. The year restriction is 1943. No custom units or platoons allowed. AAM original platoons, Nationality bonus is allowed. Enfilade and grazing fire will be used. You don't need to pack pieces if you don't want to as we will have plenty available, just make a list of each that you'd like to play. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and, 3rd place along with some nice participation prizes for each player.
Our group will be hosting the "Battle of Hannaut" early war French/German scenario. We will also have the "Pacific Island Rescue" scenario available for players to enjoy. Both of these will not be as lengthy as some of our past endeavors.
We will also have available the following board games available if anybody has some free time and a partner to play.

We will have another group of players joining us this year. Welcome to the players of a game called "Guild Ball". This is sort of a Victorian/Steam punk era soccer game played with miniatures. This group will be playing a "local" tournament on Saturday.
Not a definite yet but, the Star Wars X-wing players might be there as well for some game play.
As always water and snacks (Thank you Dano) will be available along with some door prizes.

I spoke with Maus via telephone today and updated him on my scenario design progress. I few things should be mentioned.....
The 1940 Invasion of Norway event I will be hosting will be a series of stand alone historical scenarios. In all there will be a minimum of 12 individual scenarios with unique AAM maps. I asked Maus to please change the scheduling a bit for this event. Plans are now for the following:
Friday October 11th - 8 pm to 10 pm - 1st round - Maximum of 8 players dividing up into four 2 player games - Scenarios 1 -4
Saturday October 12th - 10 am to 12 noon - 2nd round - Maximum of 8 players dividing up into four 2 player games - Scenarios 5 -8
Saturday October 12th - 1 pm to 3 pm - 3rd round - Maximum of 8 players dividing up into four 2 player games - Scenarios 9 -12
Saturday October 12th - 4 pm to 6 pm - 4th round - Maximum of 8 players dividing up into four 2 player games - Players may ask to play those scenarios they didn't get a chance to play in an earlier round.
Saturday October 12th - 8 pm to 10 pm - 5th round (optional) - Maximum of 8 players dividing up into four 2 player games - This round will be done if enough interest is expressed to further play scenarios.
Players do not have to participate in every round. They can come and go as they please. You will be able to play either the Allied or Axis side and then switch to the other side if you so choose in later rounds. All who participate will receive a copy of the 1940 Invasion of Norway Campaign booklet detailing each of the 12 scenarios in the campaign series. My goal is to have everything designed & produced by the first week of September. The booklet will then go to the printers for production. It will also be posted online ahead of MaizeCon so that you can download and read it before you go to Iowa if you wish.
My ETA is Wednesday night at 9:38pm into the Waterloo International airport(regional airport). I want to be fresh and alert for ALL day gaming Friday!!! It will cost me an extra night at the hotel and I'm willing to split a room cost.
I'm set! AA cancelled one flight, so now I have a 6 hour layover in Chicago. I'll arrive Wednesday night into the Waterloo Int'l Regional airport at 950pm. I couldn't escape the late arrival! I'll leave on Monday afternoon at 1pm.
I have my room reserved as well...just no confirmation on the discounted room rate yet.
