This past week, I got done watching the invasion of Omaha Beach from Saving Private Ryan. This is part of my annual D-Day ritual. Anyway, it reminded me to go back and try to find the scenario thread from the end scene of the movie. As you'll see below, it got to the discussion stage, but not an further.
If anyone wants to go and run with this, please do so.
I'd love to see this completed eventually, so any suggestions are welcome!

Capt. John Miller - Resourceful Hero
Sgt. Horvath - Red Devil Captain(same M1 Carbine)
Pvt. Ryben - BAR
Pvt. Jackson - Hunting Sniper
Mellish - M1919 MG
Ryan - Garand
Upham - Green Recruit
They also had around 8 or so Screaming Eagles defending the bridge in the movie(probably represented by 2 SEPT in the game).
I also recommend using one US Engineers as a replacement for one of the SEPT to simulate the sticky bombs and close assaulting the first Tiger and possibly to blow the bridge...
The germans had 2 Tiger tanks (one of which is must be forced to drive into a close assault hex)
They also had 2 "panzer tanks" which look to me like a Marder III and some kind of Jagdpanzer or maybe a long barreled StuG.
To quote the movie, the Germans have "Infantry, 50 plus change". They seem to be Wehrmacht troops and not SS so I guess that would be a limitation. Well that and they didn't seem to have any artillery, motorcycles, or flamethrowers either. As for how many points in infantry the Germans should get I would take the number of troops and divide it by two. "Fifty plus change" would be 54 or so, and divided by two makes 27 points for non-infantry, or something like:
08 Grizzled Veteran
10 Wehr. Vet. Infantry x2
09 Mauser Kar x3
So that would make:
08 Resourceful Hero
07 Red Devil Captain
04 BAR
08 Hunting Sniper
09 M1919 MG
04 Garand
02 Untested Recruit
09 SEPT
06 Engineers
02 Minefield
60 Points
Vs.
56 Tiger I (must be sacrificed)
56 Tiger I
19 StuG III G
17 Marder III
08 Grizzled Veteran
10 Wehr. Vet. Infantry x2
09 Mauser Kar x3
I'm going to try to photoshop a map together and write the scenario next...
I'm thinking the germans have to get as many units across the bridge as possible or destroy all the Americans. At some point later in the game the Americans might get a Mustang like in the movie but I have to work out the details...
I would love any feedback or ideas you guys may have...
