Resolving Trade Disputes
---------------------
The marketplace is very successful and user friendly, we try very hard keep it that way. But sometimes, things happen.
Below are some guidelines for resolving a trade gone bad:
1. If you are involved in a trade and you are not satisfied with the outcome, please attempt to work it out with the involved parties via PM (Do NOT post your dispute as a thread).
● You are cautioned to remain polite in your PMs. If one of the parties develops bad feelings toward the other, they may be less inclined to make an extra effort to resolve the issue. In extreme cases, negative feelings can result in one party refusing to do the right thing because they feel offended.
2. If you cannot work it out in a reasonable amount of time or unable to contact the other party, please contact the Marketplace Mods to get involved. (Find our names at top of the index page)
● For domestic trades, the rule of thumb is to wait 3 weeks before contacting the Mods. For international trades, 4-5 weeks is an appropriate waiting period. That said, please to do not wait longer than 2 months to report a trade to the Mods. As time goes on, it becomes difficult to track down the parties and get a positive resolution.
3. The Mod will contact the other party to get both sides of the story (the truth is often somewhere in the middle). Please be patient, this can take several days (sometimes even longer) as we attempt to resolve the issue to everyone's satisfaction.
4. If the situation cannot be resolved with the Mod, because one party either refuses to cooperate, or cannot be contacted the Mod will issue a Bad Trader Warning.
● This will be an announcement thread, stickied in the Marketplace, titled "BAD TRADER WARNING: user_name"
● The Mods will lock the trading threads of users on warning.
5. If, after 30 days, the user on warning does not make good on the trade, the user will placed on the Bad Trader List and that user's trading threads will be deleted and that user will be banned from trading in the Marketplace.
6. A trader remains on the Bad Trader List until such time as they make good on their trade(s).
7. Traders involved in more than three trading disputes will be added to the Trade with Caution list.
Do Not:
● Enter negative feedback on the Good Trader List.
● Start a thread openly accusing another user. This is where you need to get a Mod involved.
