Slow 2 CONVOY DEFENDER: While a friendly Auxilliary is in this unit's sector or an adjacent sector, this unit rolls one extra attack die when making Main Gunnery attacks this turn.
GUARD SHIP: This unit may deploy in any sector adjacent to a coast or island on your side of the map. If deployed this way, this unit can't move until it has been attacked.

Slow,modest stats. 10 looks right
Oh you know I was just talking about Chinese ships on another thread, and look at this.
I’ve never made ship stats before so take this with a grain of salt?
I suggest changing the ship from “cruiser” to “auxiliary.” The ship has very low stats based on historical precedent, and her classification as an “escort ship” meant she was equivalent to the Allies destroyer escorts or frigates. That being said, her vital stats make her tanky for a destroyer, so I think she’s better suited to auxiliary?
The AA value seems really hard to calculate. Based on the posted guidelines, it seems like the Yasoshina doesn’t even make the cutoff for AA3. Perhaps a SA to indicate the very poor quality of AA? I was scrolling through the list and didn’t seem anything precisely, but something akin to Limited ASW Threat, or Exhausted? Perhaps AA only hitting on 5+.
Again I’ve never done this before so I can be way off the mark, but here’s a suggestion. I would appreciate feedback, particularly if I am way off, since I would like to be able to contribute more in the future.
LIMITED ANTI-AIR: This unit only scores hits during AA Attacks on a 5+
I wouldn't bother with a NSA on such a marginal ship.
Cruiser vs Aux is an interesting one.
What’s an NSA? I’m unfamiliar with the term.
Yasoshima strikes me as being almost akin to the German Aux units that represented the disguised merchant haulers - Atlantis is the only official example I think. I think that aux is a better classification than cruiser, curious what others think.

Hmm true. That’s at least double the tougher aux. it’s very undergunned for a cruiser though.
The cheapest cruiser I can think of is HMS Euryalus, at 9 points, and that’s got a MG of 6-5-5, with slightly worse health stats.
The health stats for Yasoshima haven’t been touched since it’s inception, I’m curious what we’re basing those off of? Could we assume, or is there evidence to suggest, she was under-armored or poorly maintained after being relocated by the Chinese? We could use that as justification to lower the health stats more in line with typical aux’s.
Alternatively, we could call her a destroyer and she wouldn’t be as egregiously undergunned, but we’d still have to lower at least the hull points, if not vital armor as well.
As for SA’s, given that she was an escort ship, and in light of her otherwise mediocre stats, may I suggest a bit of synergy with
Slow 2 CONVOY DEFENDER: While a friendly Auxilliary is in this unit's sector or an adjacent sector, this unit rolls one extra attack die when making Main Gunnery attacks this turn.
GUARD THE CONVOY: While this unit is in the same sector as a friendly auxiliary unit, enemy units can’t attack that auxiliary unit until this unit has been attacked at least once in the same phase.
She’s not the tankiest destroyer the IJN has, but I can’t think of another destroyer with A3, and V7 is also on the higher end. Balancing her poor attack stats with a bit of defensive synergy seems to me like an interesting route.

I wonder if we stuffed up by focusing on the escort ship.
Alternatively,
We could revert to the chinese armament, give it. GUARDSHIP (can't move until attacked/island adj deployment) and INACTIVITY (-1 on first main gun attack) Its just how she looked as a barracks ship, which closer matches her chinese service too?
