Built for the Royal Navy as HMS Radiant and entering service in 1916. Sold back to its shipyard, Phra Rung was one of very few ships sold internationally before the Washington Naval treaty stopped the practice. It is said that Siamese King Rama personally contributed to the purchase. The purchase negotiated by her first Siamese commander, and crown prince Abhakara. Avoidimg significsnt combat service in world war two. She was thought to have been the lucky survivor of an attack by USS trout in 1943. She was striken from service in 1955, but was rumoured to survive intact into the 1990s
Just realized something for this card... the UK still had 1 R class DD commissioned in WW2, and that was HMS Skate. Although she was slightly modified for mine laying, I think I'll use this card for her since they are the same class...😁
