Determined will definitely rack up the armor on this to a varying extent, if allowed by defender. If it ends up at the higher 6, 7 your obviously relying on hitting the VA to stop it.
I'm on the fence with this version, or part of it. Was thinking we would end up with a cheaper option. I'm not sure you would invest in a lot of these at a higher price for a swarm attack, sacrificing the majority for the potential last. I think determined will make it target number one anyway to stop it triggering, which in itself gears towards having several.

If we can take out Determined to make it cheaper, then I'm all for it. Or make it to where it only does it once, instead of stacking... that wouldn't up the cost much. I still firmly believe the cost should be 8 for any Swordfish...
Was thinking about something along the lines of the air frame absorbing damage, as they did historically to a certain extent.
What about a slight variation of rugged.
(RUGGED? TOUGH? PLUCKY? INCREDIBLE?) STRINGBAG - Whenever an attack (fighter?) equals/exceeds this units armor, roll a die, on a ? or higher this attack has no affect. Possibly OPG unless you go with a high number on the save role.
With the original Swordy's being over cost (they should come in around the seven mark, give or take) I would agree with this aiming for the 8 point mark. If you house rule the original swordy's cost then you can go along with this, otherwise your going to end up with the elite version being less expensive than the lesser versions, if you still use them that is.

Determined - in the air attack step. For each friendly aborted or destroy aircraft in its sector this unit gains +1 armour this turn. This units armour cannot exceed its vital armour
1) I like 'Stoic' or 'Valiant Crew' for the name of the ability
2) We should add the following to the 'Determined' SA: "...in its sector (Max +3)." Otherwise the armor will be higher than the vital and cause confusion. This is possible in larger point games where the stacking rules are increased.
3) In my opinion, I still think the point cost of the unit is 9, but I know I'm in the minority here since most wanted it below that point.
