Though classified by the Norweigan Navy as a Destroyer HMnOS Sleipner and five sister ships were less than 1000tons displacement. Despite their diminutive, thr class were modern designs with effective armaments and reasonable performance. Only one ship in the class woild be lost during the war, Aeger suffering the dubious distinction of being on of the first warship sunk by aircraft in combat. The remaining ships were siezed and used by the kreigsmarine before being returned to norway after the wars end

Despite their diminutive 735ton displacement. The six ship of the Sleipner class were modern designs with effective armaments. Sleipner herself would escape siezure or destruction by german forces in 1940 to fight on with Allied forces.
