I think the length they used was for the ship before it was modernized.
Maybe...
Another mini I have issue with is the Kaga. I don't know what it is about that ship, but for some reason I feel that it should be bigger. It isn't small, I've put it alongside Akagi and Shokaku and it's at least somewhat comparable, but when I look at it I think "that's way too small for a fleet carrier".
Should be basically same size as Akagi and noticeably larger than Shokaku.
I had the same experience comparing Soryu to Intrepid and Aquila. The latter two are noticeably larger (which makes sense for Intrepid), but somehow Soryu is a sort of mean between them.
I also am inclined to think the earlies models Wizards released tend to be a little more rough-hewn; I appreciate Bolzano, Washington, and Salt Lake City greatly, but they, all rare, have worse turrets than Nurnberg and Giovanni, both of whom are also nicely sleek and satisfying to behold.

That’s funny, the other day I was comparing my carriers and I noticed Kaga was the same length as Glorious. I then looked up their lengths and realized Kaga should have been bigger. I think it’s interesting because Kaga is one of my favorite sculpts in the game.

That is exactly what happened. I calculated the length "as built" and "as modified" and they used the "as built" length. Both classes were almost gutted to empty hulls and lengthened by quite a lot (I don't remember the exact amount). They got the first model right, but not the second.
RB told me that his model makers had no experience with warships at all. He had to watch over everything and he really couldn't keep up. The first two sets were modeled the old fashioned manual way. With set 3 they switched to cad modeling. Set 3 really had some issues from the learning curve, but then it got better.

The West Virginia. Not that it’s sculpt is bad, but it does show the ship as she appeared at Pearl Harbor. Too bad the card is the modernized, post refit version of the ship. I can’t help but with Wizards had stuck with one or the other!
I don't have a specific card I hate but really dislike the ships with the Slow 3 SA. They have a 50% chance of moving 2 sectors. Seem to be best used for convoy scenarios where they can keep of easily to speed-1 ships.
The sculpt is ugly. This has destroyer guns but no ASW, and it’s only slightly more survivable than a Fletcher-class destroyer. The design was outmoded when it was built. The torpedoes are so poor that it’s an afterthought rather than a primary weapon. The names are gross. Sorry if you’re named Richmond, but that’s not pretty. I get that it was the capital of the Confederacy, but it’s not a pleasant word. Marblehead is something a third-grader tries as a retort when he gets called a doody-face the first time.
Wow... I know what ship I'm taking next time we play so you can destroy it with extreme prejudice!
The F4F Wildcat. Because it screwed up the armor values of aircraft for the entire game. Should have been vital armor 8.
Vital 8 with the rugged SA
That would work. Although I would argue the Wildcat wasn't any better overall than the Zeke. RB basically got it right with the Martlet. I think we take the "armor" term too literally sometimes. Especially for aircraft. The Armor and Vital Armor values for all the units in the game are generally a blend of multiple factors. Some very quantifiable and some not.

Agree with this one wholeheartedly. Unless you are running a strictly historical scenario there is no reason for the American to use an Omaha Class cruiser. There are sooo many better options available.
