What about a “heroes’ set? Famous squadrons and the most decorated ships and subs that don’t yet have cards in the game. We could also do remakes of ships that are already in the game for specific actions.
Guadalcanal USS Washington Black Sheep Corsairs USS O’Bannon - 17 battle stars Been-Everywhere Haruna
I like this idea. I've even made a custom card honoring Commander Waldron of VT-8. He brings buffs to TBD Devastators in play.
Some ships have been neglected for to long as power creep has come in.
Admiral's deck would be great, I still have the OGs one from when they were first made on the Forumini.
And also "troop" cards. I don't remember who made them but think Royal Marines or Japanese Imperial Army soldiers that can be carried on Auxiliary ships, based on islands. Have armor, MG and AA values. Plus special abilities.
Amphibious Landings are a huge part of World War Two but aren't really thing in War at Sea.
Erwin Rommel - "Give me American supply lines, British planes, German officers and Canadian troops, and I can take over the world".
I agree that we should put out a new rulebook with some starter cards that can be easily mass produced.
4 months ago I was looking at RB Blog about Set 7 & 8. And had a thought of. "He probably would make a new rulebook with new scenarios, explain how Installations recieved and deal damage, erratas and, other wacky things."
Installation "x" and Coastal Facility sure take up a lot of card space.

I like this idea. we could do a card for Grey of VF-6.
This Wildcat can not escort. Can not attack other aircraft. It can just circle around the enemy doing nothing.
I had been tossing around a “Loadout” card idea. The cards would be like Minesweeper Paravanes- gain minesweeper SA Extra ASW equipment- refill 1 failed ASW attack Light AA buff - re roll 1 aa defence.
You get the idea. Have a set of 6 cost of 1 point each and allow only one per of each type per fleet and only for Destroers and Aux units.
raev I think you and I and some of the other things mentioned on here are all close enough to be reconciled into a good compromise deck and set of new rules.
While that may be true Syzmo, it important to recognise that new rule arent neccesarily welcomed or sought by all. There is a compromise position somewhere and getting a clearer picture of this is the object of these polls.
And as ive ssid i dont support a "bolt on" stat modifier approach. With abilities used sparingly, i think admirals could be a middle ground. In a stand alone format maybe.
I may raise some additional follow on threads over the weekend. Kids are here so i may not have time.
I don't play anymore so my opinion is probably worthless but I always thought the Admiral Cards were one of the best things done on the early forum. Glad to see they survived the switch (thanks to SWO_Daddy!)
