Be sure to read the special victory conditions on page 39 as well.
I have! Seems like the game is much easier for the attacking player but I could be mistaken.

I had the same thought, which is probably why the attacker gets 80 points and the defender gets 100.
It's all about the convoy, so a head-to-head match is not the goal.
Not to give advice against myself, but things that protect convoy ships - as opposed to just dealing damage - are probably key.
If you'd like, I'm willing to play the Guardian and let you take the Attacker... no worries.
We could play it twice too. For the first time I'll play the Regina Marina as the attacker. Working on a fleet.

OK, so you get 80 then. Let me take a look at the French and see if they have the right units that I'd wanna play as defender. If not I may take the Brits.

What cards we using?
Can we stick to official+teams for now? In our next game we can use some customs!

What I think the scenario needs is a condition that the attacking player can’t lose any capital ships or something along those lines... it doesn’t make much sense to be able to sacrifice one or two battleships to sink five convoy vessels and call it a victory!

Still seems fun though.

I don't know that BBs are the best way to go for the attacker anyways. They only have one big shot and are expensive. Using the IJN for example... I think I'd rather take two Haguros than one Kongo...
I'll stick with the French and see how it goes. I think "Guard the Convoy" SAs are really key, and I'm not sure the Team(s) ever gave one to the French (I know RB didn't). But we'll manage.

Does 1942 work for the year?

Ok, here's what the Regina Marina has sent to deal with this convoy:
1x Vittorio Veneto 49 1x Giovanni Delle Bande Nere 9 2x Z.1007 Alcione 16 1x C.202 Folgore 5
