Found this the other day, and pre-ordered. A WW1 game that plays a bit like X-Wing or Attack Wing but with WW1 Dreadnoughts, BC's, cruisers, DD's, and U-Boats. Ships sit on a placard with turret fire arcs, cards can be bought to boost some basic stats, and Captains are for hire. Many expansions are planned, even going back to some pre-war ships like the Splendid Cats, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau.
Very much a fast and fun GAME, and not for historical accuracy. Ships are 1/2000 scale, but also foreshortened somewhat. Ships are resin and white metal. Plays on a 3x3 mat, and meant to be played with just a few ships per side. Starter comes with 2x Iron Duke class and 2x Helgoland class, and is ~$62.00. Pre-ordering saves ~ $10.00.
Not a huge fan of the Foreshortened part, but a new game in the genre at a similar scale could be good. I wouldn't be surprised if I start getting more requests to do WWI-era designs. 1/1800 will scale down just fine too so no redesign needed.
interesting, i just saw some people playing Star Wars Armada today and was thinking a real ship version would be nice and this looks to be very similar, atleast at first glance, i maaayyy, have to get this
