I haven't played in about two years. Today I taught two wargamers how to play but I didn't get to play myself. May 25th I have a meetup scheduled for a game that I hope will involve more than 2 people. If you're in the Greater Portland, Oregon area join us or let's set something up.
I play 3 games the 3rd Saturday of each month during our group's monthly War at Sea event. We're in the St Louis area so look us up if you're in the area or passing through.
Playing a massive game on my kitchen table now. Every CV, BB, and CA that I own. US, Commonwealth, and Greece versus Japan, Italy, Finland, and Germany with the French, Russians, and Sweeds joining whoever is has fewer points on the board at the start of turn 4. Not using a board but doing 4” for each hex and measuring out movement and firing. I’m in the middle of turn 3 and US aircraft are demolishing the Japanese, but the real difference is being made by the warsprite. It’s sunk both the Kongo and Haruna so far. Alaska blew the Myoko out of the water and Quicy got the Atago. Tone got sunk by helldivers and the San Francisco was sunk and Houston crippled by five bombers. It’s leaning towards the allies, but the heavy axis battle squadrons are going to open up when I get home from night duty tomorrow morning.
Tonights WaS game was a night action, North Atlantic Aug 1940 - HX65 Convoy Allied 51 merchant ships with 9 Escorts vs Axis 10 U-boats with HE115 & JU88 air support... by Turn 5 Allies had lost 3 escorts, 1 merchant vs 6 u-boats sunk and 1 crippled u-boat. Game was called with an Allied win.
Still tinkering with this type of game scenario....

Well I am new to WAS, found it at Origins 2019 loved it, and since getting home have played it three times with my 11y/o daughter. She is in love with it too (she tromped my IJN fleet with her combined USN, UK, Commonwealth and Italian fleet). Going to bring it on my beach vacation..... my wife will be annoyed as the kitchen table will be a loss for most afternoons!
Aug 18-19 1944 - South China Sea, Night time conditions with Heavy Rain Squalls off the northern coast of PI. Convoy HI-71
Forces: USN - 9 submarines: 3 Balao Class & 9 Gato Class Submarines with a total of 9 Decoy submarine markers. (See our groups optional ASW Submarine rules posted in Clubhouse rules section)
Note: That in real life during WWII IJN losses for Convoy HI-71 was 7 merchant ships sunk, 1 escort carrier sunk, 2 destroyers sunk, and 3 Kaibokan subchasers sunk. The USN losing only 1 sub.
However during last nights game the results were, 7 USN subs sunk; IJN loses were 2 Kaibokan subchasers, 7 merchants or 50% of the merchants, 1 Kate which crashed during night time landing.
This was a good game that everyone enjoyed. Try out our ASW rules!!!

Eight u-boats were sunk and all boat to of the escort ships vs 1/3 of the convoy being sunk.
Tr y out our ASW Rules posted in the Clubhouse House rules section.

Every weekend. But it's solo games which aren't as fun. My FLGS is 40 minutes away and work is 60 minutes in a different direction making weeknights a real challenge.
My three sons (14, 12, 8) rediscovered it a couple months back and have been binging all summer...hours on end...daily...
Poor wife is slowly going crazy with the ships always being out. But, she's glad. They could be on a screen instead...
Just dropped another $90 as I noticed I was missing 3 per unit for a few planes and destroyers, plus a pack of Deck E out of Australia. Somehow I missed Deck C "Battle Line'. Sigh. Nowhere to be found...
