I'm not a big fan of the 2 piece tracks grgbobe. I prefer the 1 piece myself. The PSCo. kits are nice but fiddly to assemble.
Roger on that. I spent the entire Seahawks game last night putting together the 5 tanks and most of the time was spent trying to figure out the 2 piece tracks. At least I got the tanks ready for primer today...the Seahawks don't have much to be happy about. The PSCo kits also seem to have more individual pieces than some of the Flames of War/GF9 kits which means more flash to trim and sand.
They also don't lend themselves well for the turrets to be magnetized...
This is a 1/100 (15mm) 3D printed P.1000 "Ratte" from Miniature Tanks Company. The Zvezda "Maus" is for size comparison. Probably never see a game except as an objective piece.
Yes grgbobe, I rattle caned the base coat on the turret and hull. The camo was hand painted.
Nice work! You did that monstrosity justice!
I found some pictures on line and went from there. An after thought was to outline the Lt. Green with a Brown line. Would of helped the Lt. Green stand out a little more.
What color/brand rattle cans did you use? That's a really interesting red.
The red was from Ace Hardware. It's called Red Oxide Primer. I happened to see it when I was looking for Grey Primer and thought it looked good. It turned out ok. I painted the Maus turret with a color I had in a bottle. That seemed a little to dark.
Do you mind if I ask, why did you paint the turret red? I am guessing it's not for camoflage...
I don't mind at all Theaetetus. Some of the really late war German Monsters were rushed out and not fully painted. The Maus also represents this and has numbers on the turret to represent part numbers. The Ratte was never built so it leaves it wide open for how you want to paint it.
