I've got a few games under my belt. Not as easy to find games for Armada; compared to x-wing. Just picked up the Arquitens and I'm trying to arrange a game to get the commander in there some run. Take 1 damage (aw, one shield) to get a Yaw2 turn on the first move segment... I plan on putting a pair of Victory class SD's against an Imperial class using that commander. I expect it to be quite entertaining to get that much front arc consistently on something that big and nasty.
Seen any of the Wave 6 stuff? Hammerheads and an Imperial squadron carrier coming soon!
Honestly, Secondary market I think is best way to get in. Got me a solid 2 person starter set for $200; pricey still but considering it would've been $400 new I was cool with it. 2 person set means, I don't have to find another person with armada to play and that gets me a game every 3 months or so, lol.
Can some of the corellian campaign objectives can be used in tournament play though? The feeling I get is that Armada is at that stage where everything could work, and everything has its weakness. As was pointed out, an anti-meta fleet can win some games because it exploits the soft spot.
For me though, objectives are where I lose the game. Typically, I'll start out thinking I got a good chance, then +bam+ turn 3 and my loss is now measured in terms of how bad.
