I did notice a few people voting for the HMAS Sydney (iii)- Majestic Class. She wasn't authorised for the RAN until 1947, and commissioned in 1948. I'd hate those votes not to count because of the commissioning dates being well outside wartime era
While I would love the RAN to get a carrier I also think this ship doesn't belong in W@S.
This is a good example of why we need a more comprehensive set of guidelines as to what can be nominated and what can't. This ship shouldn't even be a contender for nomination.
This ship is more real than nearly half the planned ships in the game.

I managed to miss the entire nomination process... are we limited to voting for units already nominated? Just curious.
Hey Brigs, I would say no. The vote is to give the team an idea anyway. While the top vote-getters will probably make the deck the same can't be said of the #2 and #3 etc. choices. Depends on where the interest clumps and how that fits to the national allocations.
I'm looking for new destroyer classes in UK given the vast amount they built. I was looking up the two nominated USN heavy cruisers, USS Chicago CA 29 and USS Vincennes CA 44. I think USS Chicago would be a better choice with the ship's various amounts of damage she took through out the war before being sunk. Being thinking on some 'Survival' special abilities for her.
USS Chicago basically had an incompetent martinet for a captain. When you dig into it that cruiser is not one you really want to have to make a card for.
HMS Starling would be a truly unique new destroyer class (Modified Black Swan class sloop.) We have all the main UK "fleet destroyer" classes now. Keep in mind they ordered them in groups of 6 (or 7 with a leader) and were often repeats of the previous "class." A/B, C/D, E/F, G/H, J/K/N, L/M, O/P etc were the same. Arguably there isn't much difference from A to F.
The bad thing about escort destroyers is they are slow and don't have torpedoes. So they are very niche units.

Captain Bode might need some ice for that burn
That is the consensus of the historians I have read.

Thanks Fires!
I may or may not have an idea or two. Just wanted to know my parameters.

I only voted for Japan and US as those are the only two I have and are interested in. I did look at the Allies Minors and Australia/NZ but I will leave those to you big guns... Enjoy this site! Keep up the good work!
I see some interest in an Italian Operational BB; One advantage doing V Vento over Littorio you have a Point to play with helps a lot in trying to not obsolete the original
The Kii class from the 1920s would have displaced 42,600 tons (normal). That's at the high end of the Hull 5 range I believe. Bismark was 41,700 tons. Iowa was 48,110 tons; and of course Yamato was over 69,000 tons.
I would much rather see the 1920's kii over another yamato. it gives us another class we dont have and isn't too far off from the yamato in power but does give you a slightly cheaper option.
I was also never a fan of making fantasy BBs just to dodge the class limit on an existing card. But it seems we've crossed that Rubicon.
One unit not mentioned that I've seen would be a Colonna sister. The Italians could use a 2nd one, since we've given the Brits two Lions, and the French a ton of Richelieus...
